I have been working on changing my 4 year olds bedroom for a while now (still not there) and wanted to include his headboard as another inexpensive example of how to customize your childs room. My son is currently obsessed with all things dinosaur but try finding a dinosaur fabric that doesn't scream juvenile cartoon! As a compromise I did use some dinosaur fabric in the bedding and accesories but did not committ wholly to the dinosaur concept by recovering the headboard in a neutral striped pattern that can easily be modified as he gets older. All you need for this project is an old headboard with an inset similar to the one above, batting, a staple gun and 2 yards of fabric. SO EASY and SO INEXPENSIVE!
